Fuchsias

We have Fuchsias in both the garden and in pots, some varieties in both. The pot plants get moved in for winter but even so, we usually lose one or two, to vine weevil, drought or disease, so until they are all in growth in the spring it is hard to be sure what we still have. Fuchsia gall mite is a problem that seems to be getting worse, with a greater number of plants affected in each of the last three years. I try to save the varieties by maintaining a high level of vigilance and removing infected shoots as soon as I see them.
