My love affair with Camellias started soon after I moved to Cornwall. The climate here suits many of them particularly well and they are found in every garden of any size, often in large numbers and great diversity. I have been photographing them for many years and would like to share my pictures in the hope that others will come to love them too.
Plant Heritage have five national collections of Camellias, four of them in Cornwall. Many of my pictures were taken at Mt Edgcumbe, several others at Anthony House. I would urge you to visit these collections in spring. Other notable collections may be found at Tregrehan, Trewithen, Caerhays and Tregothnan.
I have another blog which is all about Camellias. For some reason I called it JimsCamellias.
